Role: Maintenance Electrician

Location: Chesterfield

Salary: up to £38,000 per annum (+ shift allowance & overtime)

Type: Full time & permanent

· 3 rotating shifts

· Days, Afters & Nights

  • Shift allowance for days/afters and a higher rate for nights.
  • Overtime is normally time and half and double time.
  • Time & third For first couple of hours.
  • Weekly bonus of around average of around £35-£40 per week
  • £600 per year attendance bonus.
  • 25 days a year annual leave + statutory holidays.

Overview of the Maintenance Electrician

2fawcett are recruiting for an Electrical technician / Maintenance technician for a fantastic company based in Chesterfield. This is an exciting role to develop your career and get stuck in a new challenge. The purpose of this role is to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems whilst observing all health & safety regulations.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Electrician

  • Technician is responsible for maintenance of the plants electrical systems
  • Maintaining high & low voltage plant machinery and equipment
  • PPM’s on Plant & Automotive machinery
  • General maintenance of every day running of the iron foundry
  • Heat treatments monitoring and repairs
  • Overhead cranes service and repair
  • To repair machinery in a safe manner to allow trouble-free operation
  • No ineffective repairs or repeat jobs
  • Ensure all data is completed on relevant job requests in accordance to requirement
  • Show operatives safe working methods on routine tasks so they may be undertaken themselves in a safe manner
  • Ensure any spares removed from stock are booked out to the relevant ticket
  • Report any fault that cannot be rectified to the Senior Technician/Departmental Supervisor so that alternative arrangements can be made
  • No tasks left incomplete without reporting to the relevant Departmental Supervisor/Manager so alternative arrangements can be made
  • Assist other members of the team regarding safety, repairs, as & when necessary
  • To be able to carry out basic mechanical tasks throughout the site
  • Responsible for the safe operation of all electrical distribution services throughout the factory
  • Ensure all services, i.e. lights, pumps, etc, are switched off at the end of the last shift
  • All electrical items are tested in accordance with the current IEE regulations on a predetermined basis with no omissions.
  • Fully conversant with the Health & Safety requirements of the machine and operation in question
  • All unused materials to be returned to the correct storage area at the end of each task daily

Requirements of the Maintenance Electrician

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing/Industrial environment
  • 17th Edition – 18th Edition preferred
  • Good diagnostic skills
  • Technician ideally hold a relevant qualification suitable for the position, ie City & Guilds, NVQ, in an Electrical engineering discipline
