Role Overview & Responsibilities

Achievement Engineering Corp. (Achieveng) wants to hire you as one of our new SENIOR SPECIAL INSPECTORS! We have many large projects on the horizon, so we are looking to hire full-time Senior Special Inspectors for our projects in the Bay Area, CA. If you meet/possess the following criteria - we want to hear from you!

Candidates for this position MUST POSSESS the following certifications:

• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician, Grade 1 Certification
• International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
• Nuclear Gauge and Radiation Safety Training
• American Welding Society – Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification

Any of the following additional certifications are desirable but not required:

• Any other ICC Special Inspector Certifications
• ICC Master of Special Inspection
• All other ACI Certifications
• OSHA Safety Training
• Any / all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT / NDE) Level II or Level III Certifications (through ASNT preferred)

Additionally, the applicant must meet/possessthe following qualifications:

• Possession of a minimum education of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Available in/near the Bay Area, CA.
• Possession of a valid and clean Class C Driver License issued by the California DMV.
• Able to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, and to enforce their applications.
• Able to keep records and prepare reports.
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely through oral methods, such as in-person and/or by phone, and through written methods, such as via email.
• Possession of a comfortable proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and also Adobe Acrobat.
• Be open to learning and applying specific provisions of applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations mandated by appropriate jurisdictions.
• Able to perform inspections by applying technical knowledge and following proper inspection techniques to examine workmanship and materials, as well as to detect deviations from plans, regulations, and standard construction practices.
• Able to adapt to different working conditions (e.g.: sitting, walking, in/outdoor settings, open/closed spaces, etc.).
• Able to lift and/or carry a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Be open to establishing and maintaining good working relationships with company personnel and clients alike.

Pay: $42.00 - $58.00 per hour

Experience:

• Special Inspector: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• ICC Masonry Special Inspector Certification (Preferred)
• ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector Cert (Preferred)
• ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector Certification (Preferred)
• DSA Masonry Certification (Preferred)
• NDT Level II (Preferred)
• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector Certification (Required)
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 Certification (Required)
• AWS Certification (Required)
