Role Overview & Responsibilities

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Maintenance Electrical Technician to join our well-established client in Pentwyn, Cardiff.

Employment: Permanent
Salary: Up to Β£28.9K, but could go higher for an exceptional candidate
Working: Monday to Friday, with start/finish times and shifts to be discussed during interview (no night shift working)

Role objective: The main function of this role is to supply first line response to manufacturing equipment breakdowns and provide engineering support/ solutions to improve OEE.

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide first-line response for manufacturing equipment breakdowns
  • General maintenance and repair of all plant and machinery (both electrical and mechanical) including PLCs, vision systems, chain drivers, scissor lifts, Fanuc/Universal/Yamaha robots, and belt conveyors
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance of all equipment and machinery
  • Carry out equipment change overs / putty changes / oil changes etc.
  • To carry out projects and installation work as required

Education, knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical engineering
  • Demonstrate flexibility in all areas of mechanical, electrical, and general work
  • Read electrical technical drawings
  • Excellent electrical problem-solving skills
  • Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC programming knowledge would be advantageous
  • Fanuc, Yamaha, and Universal robot experience
  • Should be practically minded and capable of making own decisions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Must possess a fundamental understanding of the Health & Safety requirements of a technician
  • Forklift truck and IPAF (MEWP) licenses would be advantageous
  • Experience of isolation procedures would be beneficial; however, training will be provided

Additional specifications/comments:

  • Experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • High degree of flexibility relating to working hours
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience of Presses and welding machines would be desirable
  • May be required on occasions to work at height or within enclosed spaces
  • Must be able to demonstrate you are a team player
