Role Overview & Responsibilities

Allen Motor Group are currently looking to recruit a Workshop Controller to be responsible for the allocation and supervision of work throughout the workshop and ensuring the required number of labour hours are worked efficiently daily at our Ford dealership in Swindon. This position is offered on a full-time permanent 45-hour contract, Monday – Friday and 1 in 3 Saturday AM’s and reports directly to the Service Manager.

Required Skills & Experience

To be considered for this position you will have working experience as either a Workshop Controller or Vehicle Technician within an automotive environment and ideally a background in using Kerridge. We are looking for individuals that possess the following attributes:

  • Strong communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Problem solving skills within the role parameters, understanding when to escalate issues
  • Fantastic time keeping and a strong sense of urgency

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure service and repairs are carried out to the highest standards of quality
  • Lead, motivate and allocate work to the technicians
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are observed and always maintained
  • Actively coach and develop the service team to increase individual competencies
  • Liaise with the service advisors as to when repairs are due to be completed, ensuring the customer is kept up to date
