Personal Care Assistant

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We require female personal assistants to be part of a team to deliver support to a lady within her own home on a one-to-one basis in Barry.

The lady requires full personal care, washing, dressing, and toileting. The lady is Peg fed, experience is desired but not necessary as training can be given as you will be required to pause and restart this. She is reliant on manual handling equipment. The lady is able to communicate verbally and is very sociable, she likes to engage with her careers when on shift. You will be respectful of the client’s personal property and space, be smoke free, highly organised and efficient. Honest and conscientious.

Duties will include:

• Personal Care
• Manual handling
• Light housework
• Engage in all activities
• Keep the home clean and fresh

You need to be a seasoned carer with a good understanding of personal care and moving & handling due to the complex needs of the client. You will be trained and supported by April.

You will work 12 hour shifts, morning afternoons or/and nights to include every other weekend, and be part of a dedicated team specifically for this lady. It's vital that we have staff consistency within this role to be able to build a professional relationship and trust with our client. Flexibility is required to cover some holiday leave and sickness.

• Day shift
• Every weekend
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekend availability
• Weekends only

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Barry, Vale of Glamorgan: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
