Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Since 1944 AD Construction Group has established itself as a well-regarded refurbishment contractor providing building maintenance services within the public sector, predominantly to local authority housing associations. Working as a close-knit team the organisation has successfully proven time and time again its ability to be a serious competitor in the construction industry.

To aid and support to the quantity surveyor working for an appointed team, from pre-contract tender stage through to final account, ensuring the effective financial management of contracts awarded.

You will be enrolled onto a HNC in Construction and the Build Environment, funded by the Company.

You will gain knowledge in:

• Maintaining accurate cost and value records for the works
• Ability to conduct effective negotiations with both client and subcontractors
• Experience of the tender and procurement processes
• An understanding of the principle of measurement of works
• Controlling and capturing costs

Essential skills/knowledge:

• Driving license
• Computer literate, experience with excel, word and outlook
• Ability to use own initiative and work without supervision at times
• Good communication skills

Package

• Salary - £14,000 to £20,00 + vehicle allowance
• Hours – Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (1hr for lunch)
• Holiday + bank holidays and Christmas closure

Additional Information

• DBS check will be carried out on your behalf at the company’s expense
• At the interview stage you will be required to complete an aptitude test
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Six Month Probationary Period
