We call this TEAM anywhere.Your future team: Search PlatformThe Search Platform team is responsible for powering all of Rovo Search as well as search across all Atlassian products. Our mission is to make all our customers' data across Atlassian and third-party applications searchable securely and reliably through an insanely fast, globally scalable, enterprise grade search infrastructure.In addition to unlocking enterprise knowledge through natural language search, much of Rovo AI also relies on search as a core capability for secure, flexible and quick access to relevant information which is instantly kept up-to-date. As the world of AI continues to move incredibly fast, so do we with our 'ShipIt' philosophy.In this role, you'll get the chance to:Handle complex problems in the team from technical design to launchDetermine plans-of-attack on large projectsSolve complex architecture challenges and apply architectural standards and start using them on new projectsLead code reviews & documentation and take on complex bug fixes, especially on high-risk problemsSet the standard for meaningful code reviewsPartner across engineering teams to take on company-wide programmes in multiple projectsTransfer your depth of knowledge from your current language to excel as a Software EngineerMentor junior members of the team.At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. We follow consistent hiring practices and account for each candidate's skills, knowledge, and experience when setting base pay within the range.This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.Your background:10+ years experience in multiple hands-on software/technology leadership roles, with end-to-end responsibility through the software development lifecycleBachelor's degree with a preference for Computer Science degreeExperience with Lucene, Solr, or other Search technologies.Deep understanding of Kafka and Kubernetes internalsWorked on improving efficiency of large distributed stream processing pipelines.Expertise with Java and Java based stream processing platforms.Ability to identify and fix data processing inefficiencies using application performance monitoring tools of Java.Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands-on experience with public cloud offerings of AWS.Experience in Java, Spring, REST, and NoSQL databasesExperience building event-driven pipelines based on SQS, SNS, Kafka.
