Role Overview & Responsibilities

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen to work as part of the COMPASS Programme (Dual Diagnosis) in the post of Band 5 COMPASS Wellbeing practitioner.

The post is a 6 month secondment working with our Mental Health Teams based in Orsborn House Handsworth and is open to internal applicants from nursing, social work occupational therapy and candidates with substantial experience with Mental Health /Drug and alcohol backgrounds.

The COMPASS Programme is a trust-wide service working with clients who experience both severe mental health and substance use difficulties. The team is recognised nationally as a cameo of good practice in the Dual Diagnosis Good Practice Guide (2002).

The COMPASS Programme provides quality, evidence-based interventions for clients with co-morbid difficulties. There will be opportunities for the successful applicant to be involved in relevant and audit projects. This post would ideally suit applicants who are enthusiastic and self-motivated and have knowledge of the impact that substance use can have on mental health.
