Role Overview & Responsibilities

Description

We are looking to appoint a Creative Arts Technician to support the Head of Art with preparation of resources, coordinating displays around the school, extra-curricular activities and enrichment clubs, maintaining health and safety standards, ordering of materials, maintenance and distribution of portfolios at the end of term.

The right candidate will also support the Performing Arts department with creating set and staging for school productions, costume organisation and preparation, social media presence.

You will need to have experience with live theatre/performance and have good technology and social media skills along with the need to have a good knowledge of art materials and techniques. Experience with using lightning and sound equipment, working with children and a qualification in Art is preferable.

Key Duties and Areas of Responsibility:

To support the Head of Art with

  • the preparation of resources,
  • coordinating displays around the school,
  • extra-curricular activities and enrichment clubs,
  • maintaining health and safety standards,
  • ordering of materials,
  • maintenance and distribution of portfolios at the end of term.

To support the Performing Arts department with

  • creating set and staging for school productions,
  • costume organisation and preparation,
  • social media presence.

Person Specification and Qualities

The right candidate will need to have experience with live theatre/performance and have good technology and social media skills and will need to have good knowledge of art materials and techniques.

Experience with using lightning and sound equipment, working with children and a qualification in Art is preferable.

  • The motivation to work with children and young people.
  • The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and under pressure.
  • The ability to be organised and keep good time management.
  • The ability to keep a good sense of humour when under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
