Support Worker

Role Overview & Responsibilities

You will encourage and maintaining a positive, safe and homely environment that is warm, empathetic and wholly accepting of children, so they feel cared for, safeguarded and able to recover from past traumatic or adverse events. To provide daily, consistent quality support for vulnerable young people with differing support needs. These includes young people with, autism, behaviour disorders, emotional & behavioural difficulties or mental health problems. Provide restorative and pastoral care to children; preparing them emotionally and physically to engage positively with the home’s plan for them.

You will strive to build positive and appropriate nurturing relationships with the young people, building a foundation on which trust and positive attachments can build upon. You will also be a valuable role model to children by own practice, delivering your day to day responsibilities. You will support children and staff with daily household responsibilities like domestic chores, cooking, shopping, taking young people to appointments, planning out the day and activities with the young people and support with education.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30 - 48 per week

Salary: £11.50-£12.50 per hour

Day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends only

• Residential home

• Day shift
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
