This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team, providing technical support in the fields of Microbiology, Materials Science and Chemistry. Here we offer the opportunity to grow within the company and take on additional Laboratory Supervisory roles, progressing into a more senior member of the team.

Our solutions can be used within the healthcare sector, hospitality industry and public transport, dramatically reducing the transfer of viruses and bacteria both during the COVID-19 pandemic but also thereafter.

Role and Responsibilities

● Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment involved in the development and testing of products.

● Ensure laboratory consumables, reagents and chemicals are stocked, with an opportunity to take on ordering and inventory responsibilities and develop relationships with suppliers.

● Where required and with support, help the material science and chemistry teams with sample preparation for microbiological analysis.

● Microbiological laboratory preparation, including but not limited to: media preparation, bacterial culturing, sterilization of consumables and hazardous waste.

● General laboratory house-keeping.

Qualifications/ Key skills

● HND/HNC/BSc in a Scientific discipline.

● Knowledge and understanding of aseptic techniques.

● Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment.

● Organisational and time management skills to meet the needs of the research team.

● Team player with good communication skills.

Desirable but not essential

● Experience in aseptic techniques.

● Previous use of Autoclave equipment.

● Previous experience in the biotechnology industry.

Proof of eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis is required for this role

Salary: £21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
