Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Description:


Are you an Electronics Repair Technician? Would you like to work on some of the most advanced industry leading products? We are innovating and pushing the boundaries of mobility technologies and we are looking for an Electronics Repair Technician to join our service department.

The Role:

  • Carry out repair and rework of units
  • Carry out quality control checks on repaired units
  • Applying ECN (engineer change notes)
  • Ensuring that product labelling of returned units is completed in a timely manner
  • Continual training to keep up with the latest standards
  • Liaise with Service Manager to agree priority tasks in order to meet service need
  • Support the Service Department to meet its overall objective
  • Offer support to colleagues, when needed
  • Liaising with Sales, Support, Software and Engineering to ensure the smooth running of the service
  • Advise and inform others on matters relating to own job/department.
  • Actively support the implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
  • Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:
Essential


  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar position.
  • Proficient in soldering techniques (ideally down to 0402)
  • Ability to strip and rebuild mechanical assembly
  • Strong attention to detail and able to follow test and programming instructions
  • Able to prioritise workload and complete in a timely manner
  • Fully proficient at using IT systems, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office packages.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards/IPC-610.
  • Experience of reading circuit diagrams.

Desirable

  • Working experience of SAP and other manufacturing software (Caltool, toolset).
  • Experience of working in an automotive industry.
