Role Overview & Responsibilities

Pig Stockperson

North Yorkshire (Scarborough)

White Rose Farms Ltd are based predominantly in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire breeding and rearing pigs to Red Tractor standards. We are part of industry leading food producer Cranswick plc, a progressive FTSE250 Company.

Multiple opportunities have arisen at our farm site in the Scarborough area. The farm is a high health nucleus unit within our pig breeding operation, that has undergone extensive refurbishment and expansion. The roles available cover general stockperson duties, farrowing house duties, pig nursey unit management and farm labouring. This is a great opportunity for the right person to join our fast paced ever growing business with a bright future.

Main Duties:

  • Working with pigs on an indoor unit to ensure their health and wellbeing, including feeding, vaccinating moving and handling the pigs
  • Loading and unloading pigs when required
  • Working to high standards of animal welfare
  • Farrowing house duties (DOE)
  • Pig Nursey Unit Management (DOE)
  • Maintaining the condition and appearance of the farm
  • Operating farm machinery

You will need:

  • Experience with livestock or an agricultural background is essential
  • A keen interest in the pig industry and animal welfare
  • Farrowing house experience (desirable)
  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivation and a good work ethic

Due to the rural location your own transport is necessary

Pay and benefits:

  • Full time, permanent position available
