Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Bookkeeper/Accounts Officer for a Sixth Form College based in Central London with a view to start ASAP. The person must be AAT or ICB qualified and must have a full knowledge of Sage 50 (essential). Please see the job description below:

Responsibilities will include:

  • To maintain bookkeeping and accounting
  • To maintain data entry in Sage 50 or any other software necessary
  • To keep up to date with bank reconciliation
  • To maintain cash book and petty cash book
  • To prepare invoices for all UFP students
  • To match and code invoices
  • To collect and track fee payments
  • To maintain credit control
  • To manage standing orders/direct debits
  • To process expense claims
  • To maintain the ledger management
  • To deal with internal and external queries
  • To prepare a yearly management account
  • To assist with employee payroll
  • To prepare regular reports for all Directors

Skills and attributes:

  • High level of spoken and written English
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

The role is currently being advertised as full time and part time. The possibility of fulltime is available covering two departments in the College. Either contract type is available.
