Badminton Coach

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Edinburgh Badminton Academy is one of the UK's leading badminton clubs with over 600 members and 40 coaches. We are looking for an enthusiastic full time badminton coach to join our team. As a coach, you will be responsible for leading sessions for juniors and adults along with a team of assistant coaches. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is open to learning and keen to help players of all ages and levels improve their game.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting on-court coaching sessions for players of all levels and ages
• Developing and implementing session plans and guidance/feedback for other coaches
• Providing regular feedback and guidance to players on their performance
• Administering and organizing EBA events and tournaments
• Assisting in the training of new junior coaches
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with players, parents, and coaches

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in coaching badminton
• Demonstrable experience in playing badminton
• Good organizational and timekeeping skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends

Desirable:

• Own drivers license and car to get to sessions
• Experience working with children
• Badminton coaching qualification
• Experience with IT and good written English

On court coaching hours will largely be evenings and weekend with other development/admin jobs to be carried out flexibly. Your working hours will be roughly 90% on court coaching and 10% computer based development/admin work.
