Class 1 Timber Driver

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our Timber Haulage department. Drivers will be expected to travel around the country to deliver customer goods in a safe an professional manner. The position is available from our Caldicot depot. This is for a Artic type vehicle and is subject to nights out.

Key Skill Requirements for driver

• Deliver customers good in a professional and friendly manner
• Ensure the most direct truck friendly route is taken
• Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks.
• Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
• Ensure all PODs are captured accurately
• Able to work on own initiative and part of a team
• Report any issues effectively and promptly to management
• Be able to work to a productive nature.

Qualifications and Skills For driver

• Full driving licence In date driver CPC and digital tachograph
• Sound geographical knowledge of UK and be able to use a road atlas.
• Posses good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Have a reason able level of fitness Presentable, good attitude and polite.
• Moffett/ Lorry loader experience required
• Netting and sheeting experience of benefit but not essential
