Role Overview & Responsibilities

GMC Publications Ltd, Lewes (near Brighton)

The Guild of Master Craftsman Publications Ltd, is a leading publisher of craft, photography, pop culture, wellbeing and woodworking magazines and books, with titles for both adults and children.

We are looking for an experienced Project Editor to join our busy and creative team in Lewes, near Brighton, to help manage an exciting and expanding list of new titles.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in managing titles from concept to publication

• Outstanding editorial, organisational and communication skills

• The ability to work accurately in Word and InDesign

• A passion for illustrated books

• A meticulous attention to detail

• An excellent command of the English language

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing live titles to ensure they are delivered on schedule and within budget

• Managing freelance authors, editors, photographers and illustrators

• Ensuring effective communication with in-house design, production, marketing and sales teams

• Updating database schedules and event logs

• Maintaining the highest standards of editorial accuracy and consistency

Salary dependent on experience.
