Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Facilities Operative will carry out general maintenance and temporary repairs to property, fixtures and fittings and to ensure the security of the premises, together with its contents. You will be expected to work flexibly across all of the College campuses and with working shift patterns. The Facilities Operative will be required to attend in cases of emergency call-outs e.g. flood, fire, intruders and take such action as required (e.g. marshalling etc).

  • Casual contract of employment - Variable hours
  • £11.74 - £12.78 per hour
  • Location: across college sites (Tycoch, Gorseinon, Sketty Hall, Jubilee Court and Llwyn y Bryn)

With previous experience in a similar role you will ideally possess an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant craft and hold or be willing to work towards First Aid and IOSH qualifications. You will have up to date knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety procedures, including manual handling, be able to negotiate heights and confined spaces.

The ability to travel to the various College sites is essential.
