Role Overview & Responsibilities

Our aim is to get the whole world drinking delicious speciality coffee, sourced from environmentally and ethically sustainable producers, for a better than fair price.

The Grind roastery is a speciality roastery originally set up to serve Grind’s sites around central London. After 4 years we’re now managing a very fast-growing online retail business as well as supplying coffee to Soho House group worldwide and lots of other wholesale partners in the UK.

The Role

We’re delighted to announce that we are now on the hunt for someone to help support our Head roaster and production team in roasting and packing of all coffee orders which is dispatched from our roastery located in Bermondsey, London.

In this role, you will learn how to taste, roast, pack and dispatch coffee, as well as how to keep the roastery maintained and running smoothly. We are looking for someone with general coffee experience, but more so someone with a good, humble attitude who demonstrates a love and curiosity for coffee, plus a willingness to get their hands dirty and work hard to make sure that ours is the best.

This is not a glamorous job, but it's a good one!

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining cleanliness and functionality of the Roastery

  • Roasting coffee (with training provided)

  • Organising packing and dispatch of coffee orders

  • Coordinating and maintaining roastery inventory (coffee and non-coffee)

  • Assisting with quality control and sourcing of coffee

Requirements:

  • Must be very comfortable with manual handling

  • Must be available on a full-time basis (Monday- Friday, occasionally flexible)

  • Must have a genuine love of coffee

This is a great opportunity for someone keen to get into the world of coffee roasteries.

Though the job will be very production-based there will be lots of opportunities to learn about how we source and more about how we roast. If you are interested in this role, we would love to hear from you!

Grind is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all candidates and employees.
