Handy Person

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for experienced handy person to carry out a proactive, responsive home maintenance/repair service in the Sandwell area.

Examples of works that will be required include

· Reposition furniture to improve access and mobility around the home and reduce the incidence of falls and injuries

· Secure and/or reposition cables to reduce the likelihood of slips, trips and falls

· Make safe carpets by securing raised edges to prevent trips and falls

· Check and unblock exits where possible to improve safety.

· Check cables are not worn and plugs are properly wired and replace fuses if necessary

· Unblock sink / wash hand basin

· Refix loose taps or replace washers

· Reseal Baths. Sinks,

· Change and/or fit lightbulbs where not working or missing

· Test smoke alarm batteries and replace as necessary

· Fit smoke alarms and CO alarms

· Install Handrails where appropriate

There may be requirements for on call weekend work as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £22,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
