Care Assistant (Hartlepool Day Centre) - £10.53 per hour

Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Care Assistant is part of the caring team and as such works with other staff to care for guests who visit the Day Centres. The work can be physically and mentally demanding, and the person appointed to the post will be expected to have a good understanding of caring for people with a diagnosis of a dementia or related illness or memory impairment.

Care for guests must be provided in a way which preserves dignity, treats individuals with respect, offers choice and safeguards privacy.

The Service plays a critical part in delivering support to reduce social isolation, improve and maintain a person’s health and wellbeing and empower people to have more independence, autonomy, choice and control in their lives and shall be delivered in a flexible manner tailored to meet the outcomes of individual guests.

Location: Hartlepool Day Centre, 2 Heather Grove, Hartlepool, TS24 8QZ

Hours: 37.5 hour per week (Monday–Saturday) on a rota basis

Job Purpose: To be part of a caring team and work with other staff to provide social stimulation for guests who visit the Day Centre

Salary: £10.53 per hour.

Key requirement: Valid current UK driving license and access to a car during working hours
