Role Overview & Responsibilities

APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR A VACANCY IN THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL DEPARTMENT FOR AN:

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL ASSISTANT

Reporting to the Senior Air Traffic Control Assistant (SATCA), the main responsibilities and duties include:

• Provide operational support to the Duty Air Traffic Controller, Air Traffic Services Manager, Deputy Air Traffic Control Manager and SATCA.
• Preparing Flight Progress Strips, checking and amending Flight Plans.
• Assist in the provision of Safety Management.
• Maintain and update live flight information.
• Liaise with internal and external agencies.
• Assist Airfield Operations.
• Administrative duties, including maintaining, updating and amending ATC documentation.

Key skills required:

• Ability to operate accurately and efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
• The ability to multitask, prioritising as required.
• Computer literate with good communication and organisation abilities.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Self-motivated, good team player.
• Flexibility.
• Be expected to attend a Meteorological Observers course if requested.
• Full clean UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

The shift pattern will include early mornings, day shifts, evening shifts and weekend work based on a rotating roster.

Initial contract would be on a 6-month probationary period with a view to a permanent contract. Employment is subject to successfully clearing background checks and successful completion of training.

Salary scale for the role is £22,048 - £25,948
