Role Overview & Responsibilities

Hush is a fast-growing fashion and lifestyle brand, founded 18 years ago by Mandy Watkins and now established as one of the UK’s leading online fashion retailers. We employ around 150 staff in our head office and across 30 John Lewis concessions, creating and selling a beautiful range of women’s clothing and accessories that are characterised by an elegant simplicity and laidback sense of style. The Role:

Reporting into and working alongside our Senior Knitwear Designer, you will support the Design Team and develop product at every stage of the product life cycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing design concepts through inspiration and research to create a seasonal and on brand aesthetic.Translating inspirational ideas into a commercial yet inspiring product.
  • Producing detailed tech-packs and liaising with factories confidently.
  • Ensuring CADs and digital presentation documents are kept up to date.
  • Actioning knit down requests, embroidery artworks and print strike-offs.
  • Organising samples for meetings.
  • Liaising with Buying and Technical team to arrange fit sessions for first protos.
  • Participating in fit sessions.
  • Managing the yarn and stitch library.
  • Organising and sending parcels.
The Person:
  • You’ll have a design qualification – preferably within Fashion Knitwear or Knitted Textile Design.
  • Ideally one year’s industry experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of garment construction, yarns, knit structures and techniques.
  • Strong CAD skills.
  • Strong market and trend awareness.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently to critical path deadlines.
