Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for individuals to join our team of imaging assistants in the Radiology Department at Prince Philip Hospital. This is a bank role and shifts will be offered as and when required.

The Radiology Department is a 24 hour service and we require staff for weekday/evening and weekends.

Radiology is an exciting department to work in. We have assistants working in all areas including CT scanner, MRI scanner, Ultrasound scanning and more.

This is a demanding job, which involves considerable contact with the public.

Duties include:
  • Assisting the Radiographer/ Consultant Radiologist working in the area.
  • To welcome patients and escort them to changing rooms.
  • To assist patients to prepare for imaging procedures.
  • To perform clerical duties.
  • Supporting the radiographer and patients during and after imaging procedures.
  • Cleaning and general hygiene tasks in the examination areas.
  • Stocktaking of designated consumables.
  • To transport patients and associated paperwork to and from Radiology.
Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.   • 48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
  • Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
  • Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
