Laboratory Technician – Turbines

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Intertek is a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide. Our network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices in more than 100 countries, delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for our customer’s operations and supply chains.

Due to fantastic growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for Laboratory Technician to provide on-site metallurgical testing in Derby. This role will suit a candidate who is looking at building and developing a strong career within the aerospace industry.

The Role:

• Supporting the booking of laboratory jobs and maintaining the laboratory logbook
• Processing samples in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), including cutting, grinding, polishing, etching, assessment
• Processing samples in line with SOP’s, including microscopic evaluation of Welds, EDM’s and Grinds
• Ensuring calibration standards are maintained

About You:

• Good IT literacy skills
• Metallurgical experience
• Knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing environment
• Previously worked with super alloys
• Experienced in using modern lean tools and techniques
