Role Overview & Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Clerk

Based: Seaham SR7

Introduction

Over the past year, we have expanded exponentially. We are now looking for a confident and enthusiastic account payable assistant to now join our finance team. L3 Optics is a telecommunications contractor based in Seaham but working nationally, delivering a wide array of telecommunications services. You will be involved in a busy fast-paced environment in a quickly growing company, with many challenges and opportunities on the way!

Reporting to

Commercial Manager & Accounts Supervisor

Experience

Experience as a finance assistant/ Finance Placement

Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in communicating with people.

Experience in Accounts Payable would be beneficial.

Key Duties

Accounts Set Up - Completing accounts forms to set up accounts with suppliers. You will also onboard suppliers for L3 Optics. (Financial Onboarding).

Supplier & Account Maintenance - Maintenance of the supplier list and archiving suppliers when necessary.

Accounts Payable - Collating bills, logging delivery notes, statement checks, Vetting & preparing bills for payment.

Liaising - Liaising with suppliers, problem-solving, and dealing with general queries.

Reporting & Tracking - Pulling off a range of basic reports and completing administrative tasks including data input.

Employee Expenses – Monitor and Liaise with employees about their expenses and produce and send a report to the Commercial Manager.

The Person – Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to use initiative with strong organisational skills.
  • Good communicator and ability to work closely with colleagues and other departments.
  • High level of computer literacy (Including Excel)
  • Experience with Xero (This is advantageous but not necessary)
  • Good time management and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work professionally and discreetly, always understanding and adhering to GDPR and Privacy Regulations.
  • Ability to think outside the box and offer practical solutions.
