Part time (24 hrs p/w) Groundsman / Maintenance person for Private Family

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Experienced and hands-on groundsman and maintenance person required to maintain a beautiful Cotswold house and its grounds.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the property. Duties to include:

Grounds:

· Mowing, lawn maintenance and strimming

· Hedge and tree management (must have chainsaw licence)

· Plant irrigation

· Leaf collection

· Spraying

· General weeding

· Gates, fencing, walls and pathways

· Pest Control

· Maintain DIY and garden equipment, tools and all machinery

Buildings:

· Ensuring all aspects of the properties are kept in good order

· Cleaning of gutters

· Basic plumbing and electrics as well as maintaining lights and electrical appliances

· Ensure Wifi, Sky, Security Equipment, Smoke Alarms, telephones and aerials are operational at all times

· Ensure household repairs are carried out or subcontracted by others

· Supervise contractors including obtaining quotes, arranging appointments and ensure all works are carried out to a high standard

· Keep a schedule and arrange routine maintenance as required

Other duties include:

· Ensure oil levels are sufficient

· Maintain log supply, keep fires clean and chimneys swept

· Ensure cars are serviced and clean (MOTs and tyres etc)

· Driving as required

· Assist with ad hoc requests to help with the smooth running of the household

You must live in the local area, be practical, have good initiative and common sense. It is essential that you have a good knowledge of and are proficient around all types of machinery. You must be comfortable around dogs and horses (occasional mucking out maybe required). There is a gardener on site but it would be an advantage if you have a good knowledge of gardening and wish to assist in some gardening projects.

Salary: £20,000.00 per year
