Role Overview & Responsibilities

You will need to be a highly organised, detailed and methodical manager to ensure the smooth running of our fleet, supported by a mobile mechanic covering both our Tamworth and Halesowen sites. You will need to have experience in this position ensuring the maintenance planning is adhered to, communicated with the rest of the transport and operations team and financially managed.

You be expected to manage the maintenance and repairs to the below

  • 75 + tractor units
  • 100 + trailers
  • 26 various >7.5t rigids
  • 5 vans
  • And various onsite machinery
  • PMI ,full and interim services, MOT, LOLER, Tax, Brake Testing, safety recalls, ect.
  • Rentals, checking in, locking in, insuring etc.
  • Vehicle Operating Licence Portal
  • Tyre management
  • Breakdown procedures/process
  • Penalties, tolls, LEZ/ULEZ/CAZ etc. across the UK

You will be expected to be involved in the interviewing of drivers after accidents and then follow through with the insurance claims right until the end

You will also be required to oversee

  • Stock, purchase orders, invoicing etc.
  • Liaising the maintenance planner with additional external service providers
  • Auditing both internal and external service providers

The above is a summary of the role that will evolve along with supporting the transport management team where required.
