Role Overview & Responsibilities

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Required

  • Part Time

  • 1:1 with a year 1 student

About the role

There is a really brilliant opportunity available for a Teaching Assistant to join one of our Primary Schools located in Stroud. The school is excellent and is a positive, energetic school. The role is a part time role, on a permanent basis and the school needs someone to start immediately for this. The working days/hours are: Mondays (all day) and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings (8am -12:30pm). The student is a year 1 boy and will need support in and outside of the classroom.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting the class in their learning
  • Supporting the 1:1 student academically/emotionally
  • Managing behaviour effectively
  • Promoting good progress and outcomes
  • Creating a positive learning environment

What the client is looking for:

The school is looking for someone who is going to be dedicated to the role. Building a positive relationship with the student is really important and so he will need someone who is willing to put 100% into the role. The individual will also need to be experienced with working with SEN students, and confident in their ability to be adaptable with their methods of support. Knowing how to respond to various potentially challenging situations is crucial.
