General Manager

Reporting to the Group MD, you will be responsible for a division of an engineering business focused on delivering steel and other metal treatments to businesses within the group and outside. The company has a strong background in delivering completed steel products to engineering and manufacturing businesses in the South East and wider UK. Your key task will be the review of current business and implementation of growth & modernisation plans, as well as the implementation of strategy and processes to increase the productivity and effectiveness of the current team and facilities.

Well established group of businesses with funds to invest and grow the businesses are focused on delivering top quality engineered and finished end products to a range of UK OEMs and 1st tier suppliers across a range of sectors.

Keen to develop this key area of their group they are looking for a General Manager with drive and motivation to take on the challenges of the current business and to implement strategies and processes to increase output and profits in the business.

The Person
The role calls for strong leadership experience gained within a background of UK engineering/manufacturing, ideally you will have experience of steel treatments or steel product production and the processes that surround them.

You will be a bright, enthusiastic, innovative team leader and player, who excels at transforming teams to meet the plans of your business/division.

Your experience will have included:

• Leading divisions or teams in a steel/steel products environment
• Developing and implementing initiatives that increase productivity
• Experience with modernisation of existing manufacturing facilities
