Trainee Sanding Operator

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are an established bespoke furniture manufacturer based in Cheltenham. Due to expansion and growth, we are looking for a full-time trainee Sanding Operator who can demonstrate willingness to learn a new skill and be able to work in a busy wood-working factory environment. The job will require learning all functions of furniture sanding preparation and associated tasks: -

The job will require: -

Reporting to the Spray Shop Supervisor

Use of compressed air-operated oscillating sanding equipment

Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping to reduce dust hazards including the emptying and cleaning of residue from plant and equipment

Maintaining all Sanding Booth equipment

Manual handling (of furniture)

Some hand sanding

Performing all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations, including the wearing of PPE supplied by the Company comprising safety footwear, glasses, gloves and air filter RPE

Experience:
Some experience of tools and woodworking would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided

Starting salary - £11.75 per hour, (rising to £13.10 per hour upon successful 6 month probationary period) + overtime (when available)

25 days holiday + Bank Holidays

Pension scheme

8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday with a 1:00pm finish on Friday
