Role Overview & Responsibilities

Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit a Civil Engineering Undergraduate Intern to work on our Hampshire Highways contract in Winchester.

As the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Intern you will have the opportunity to work in different teams across the contract to understand the range and breadth of work that we undertake.

Milestone Infrastructure are the principal contractors for Hampshire County Council maintaining and improving the 5,500 miles of highway network and other associated areas across the county. We aim to maximise impacts for local people and businesses, understanding and taking into account our social responsibilities by providing access and opportunity for economic growth, community engagement and environmental protection.

In our partnership with Hampshire County Council we want to leave a lasting legacy that everyone who works for us is proud of. Last year we launched our Carbon Strategy that details how we will reduce our climate change impact to net zero carbon emissions, which has also driven extensive innovation across all of our services. Our Winter Service is extremely important to Hampshire County Council and were keen to explore technology and data use to provide the best possible service for our Client and all road users.

As the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Intern your duties & responsibilities will be to support teams from across the contact, particularly in relation to Civil Engineering and Highway Maintenance works and projects. You will support the delivery of works and gain an experience and understanding of the core functions of the teams you work with. You will be required to undertake site and office based activities relevant to the team you work with and some travel to sites and depots across the county will be required.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements
  • Excellent IT (O365) and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Civil Engineering undergraduate
