Role Overview & Responsibilities

Mathiesons is a well-established bakery, manufacturing chilled desserts and ambient products for the country’s leading retailers. We make high quality, well known Scottish products and supermarket national own label chilled cakes and are looking to expand our team.

Our company is developing to current business needs and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Material Controller to join our Logistics Team.

The main purpose of this role is to control and monitor the issuing and usage of raw materials across the site. This will involve both daily and weekly stocktaking and updating of the food logic system.

The role includes but is not exclusive to the following responsibilities:

• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly stock counts on key ingredients.
• Compare daily usage against standard considering any recorded waste to show a variance by ingredient type.
• Maintain and update the food logic system daily and weekly identifying anomalies.
• Ad hoc Factory Projects to Investigate Material Variances and look at ways to reduce waste with the department manager.
• Collate and Report material disposals and waste by department.
• Look at waste stream and key drivers of waste, graph, and trend these on a weekly basis.
• Ensure disposal notes are completed for any out-of-date stock or raw material.
• Present the daily and weekly information to the wider management team.
• Checking of goods received on a daily basis versus planned goods.
• Control returned / rejected raw materials to suppliers, ensuring all of the relevant paperwork is in place to support
