About us

McGrocer is an online grocery platform that offers a convenient way to buy groceries that people crave. We enable customers to buy their favourite groceries from one or multiple stores in a one-stop shop, including specialist products they can't find in major stores.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Grocery Shopping Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for picking up customer orders from local supermarkets and dropping off them in Brentwood once or twice a week.

When you're not involved in grocery shopping, you'll perform other administrative/ecommerce tasks related such as order processing, virtual customer service, and coordination with team members. This is a freelance position requiring 10hours/week but hours will increase over time.

• Efficiently pick up and collect customer orders from designated local supermarkets in Basildon.
• Safely transport orders to our fulfillment location in Brentwood following established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Process and fulfill customer orders using our ecommerce platform, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Plan shopping activities based on order volumes and priorities, optimizing routes for efficiency.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate and liaise with the fulfillment team to ensure seamless order handoff and timely processing.
• Assist with inventory management, including stock tracking and reporting.
• Support other team members as needed and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• You live 3 - 10 minutes commutable distance to supermarkets in Basildon
• Experience of grocery shopping, food delivery etc.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with ecommerce platforms and basic office software such as G-suit.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry grocery bags or packages.
• Comfortable using mobile phone to followup your shopping list, scan and upload receipts
• Able to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience online shopping experience
• Familiarity with grocery shopping or retail operations.
• You are eligible to work in the UK

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: £10.50-£11.00 per hour
