Role Overview & Responsibilities

Packing team Leader wanted to work for one of our clients based in Cricket St Thomas.

£12.67 Per Hour

Temp - Perm

Monday - Friday Day Shift

The main purpose of this role is to supervise a cheese packing line to ensure that cheese are correctly cut (if required), packed, weighed and coded in an efficient manner against packing schedule and to comply at all times with current food hygiene regulations, food safety & quality standards and product specifications.

Main responsibilities include:

• Leading operatives on a line, wrapping whole and portioned cheese following prescribed procedures and work instructions.
• Responsible for monitoring relevant critical control point (CCP) and in the event of non-compliance to instigate the required corrective action in accordance with the appropriate work instructions to prevent the inadvertent release of non-conforming product to assure food product safety.
• Monitoring and managing performance of the line, ensuring standards are maintained and targets are fulfilled. providing support and guidance where necessary.
• Maintaining full traceability of products through the packing process.
• Accurately completing all records.
• Responsible for checking equipment including machinery to ensure that there is no potential risk to product safety and for reporting any defects should they occur.
• Demonstrate strong and active leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of control.
• Ensuring work areas and equipment are cleaned as set out in cleaning schedules and cleaning work instructions.
• Assisting the Site Training and Supervisor in the training of Packing Operatives and Packing Line Leaders.
• Record and report on line performance to the Supervisor with reasons for daily figures of waste, efficiency and giveaway.

Essential

• Food Hygiene Level 2 (training provided for suitable candidate)
• HACCP Level 2 (training provided for suitable candidate)
• Dairy / Food production experience
• Written & Verbal communication
• Numeracy & Literacy skills
