Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job title: Driver Assistant

As part of the delivery team you will be the last point of contact with the customer and so you will need to have excellent communication skills, be presentable and work professionally at all times when representing Newcastle Beds.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a passion for delivering excellent customer satisfaction, have a positive 'can do' attitude and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure our customers receive a level of service from their delivery that is consistent with the high standards of service we achieve when they order.

We expect our customers to receive a positive customer experience each and every time. You will always strive to meet or exceed the customer expectations building on an already established and respected relationship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet and where possible exceed customer expectations in the delivery and installation of their furniture.

• Construct furniture items on-site or in customer’s homes as per our assembly instructions, removing waste packaging and returning it to the warehouse for appropriate waste disposal.

• Ensure excellent customer service is experienced at all times.

• Ensure all documentation is completed and returned accurately at the end of each delivery.

• Report any discrepancies to the logistics manager as soon as they are identified.

• Working as part of our team with greeting and helping customers.

• General workplace housekeeping, cleaning and moving furniture.

Experience & Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.

• Exceptional time management skills.

• A great team player.

• Based in Newcastle, Gateshead, Blaydon or surrounding areas.

Due to the nature of the work some heavy lifting is required. This includes safely carrying and assembling furniture. It is therefore essential that the successful applicant is capable to carry out this nature of work.

Job Types: Full time. This is a permanent position.

Pay rates: National Living Wage
