Role Overview & Responsibilities

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is a Special Health Authority and an integral part of the NHS. In addition to providing blood components and donated organs to the NHS, here at NHSBT, in collaboration with the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Bristol, we conduct world-class research in the fields of transfusion medicine, organ donation, tissues and stem cells. The NHSBT Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) supports the translation of this laboratory research into clinical practice, conducting a range of different studies from large randomised controlled trials, to small first in man studies. Our trials are funded from a variety of sources, including the NHSBT R&D Committee and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funding streams. In this role you will be responsible for routine clinical data management activities for one or more clinical trials within the CTU portfolio. Tasks will include data-entry and handling of data queries, working to GCP standards. You will be given full training in our procedures, and the opportunity to develop your skills further, working as part of the project team.
