Role Overview & Responsibilities

The shift pattern for this position is 9 - 5. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

We are looking for a creative, innovative and experienced Occupational Therapist who is confident in his or her core skills to take up the exciting opportunity of becoming part of the occupational therapy service to mental health in-patients. This post will have specific focus on the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit (IPCU) with a requirement to develop this ring-fenced service.

You will need to have excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative clinical style will be essential.

Responsibilities will include specialist occupational therapy assessment and interventions for individuals with severe and/or enduring mental health including function and organic conditions.

You will also be responsible for making recommendations to facilitate safe and independent living. You will be part of a mutli-agency team with a Band 5 occupational therapist and supported by an Occupational Therapy Team Lead.

You will receive professional support and supervision from the Lead Occupational Therapist, will gain access to appropriate training and will have protected CPD time.
