Role Overview & Responsibilities

About:

We are a leading logistics provider with a breadth of experience and have had built good repute amongst our clients over the years.

With continued growth we are now recruiting for the position of an experienced traffic planner to join our team.

Task:

Planning the load and routes for the transport operations and overseeing the day to day scheduling, whilst ensuring maximum vehicle and resource utilization at all times to achieve optimum profitability by allocating appropriate drivers, vehicles and trailers to individual jobs.

Communicating with suppliers and monitoring driver and vehicle journeys to ensure timely collections and deliveries and handling query resolution.

Responsible for the recruitment and management of all resources in relation to transport by ensuring all new drivers meet the legal standards.

Compliance with internal operations and all associated documentation and procedures.

Ensuring the timely reporting of performance and impact analysis to management of any issues threatening the quality of service

Be flexible and able to adhere to the operational needs in relation to working hours, shifts, travel and weekend work.

Essential:

Ability to work on your own initiative and prioritize workload accordingly

Professionally qualified with good administration experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

PC Literate e.g. using Word/Excel (or equivalent) and e-mail

Robust people management skills

Target driven and able to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency and costs.

Must have previous experience of transport management, planning and scheduling

Full knowledge of the transport legislation, working time directive and drivers hours.

Package:

Negotiable depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to Β£30,000.00 per year
