Garden Designer / Landscape Designer / Landscape Architect
*Various levels needed
Full time, Permanent
8 hours per day – Monday to Friday
Location: Glasgow, UK
Salary: £tbc per annum, dependent upon experience
Job Description
· Support and manage a range of private garden designs (potentially commercial/public sector) from start to finish, communicating with the client, architects, and other disciplines, such as landscapers and gardeners.
· Able to take guidance and mentoring from Senior Management and Design Leads on design development and project completion process to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
· Quantify and estimate project construction costs for presentation to client
· Engage in company growth
Main Responsibilities
· Manage all phases of landscape project development with a focus on design development, adhering to agreed project schedule and billable workflow, including liaising with suppliers and contractors
· Client facing – such as establishing practical design objectives at start
· Take site measurements, photos, and records with Senior Designer, or Design Lead
· Develop concept research and “mood board”
· Create concept drawings - 2D floor plan and 3D model
· Work with our in-house estimation system to produce fully detailed cost packages for clients.
· Produce renderings using software and/or hand drawn when appropriate
· Develop planting plans with an understanding of tailored project requirements
· Contribute to presenting landscape projects both verbally and graphically to potential clients
· Produce technical construction drawings for landscapers on site to use (when needed)
· Work alongside Operations department and Landscape Foreman to oversee project quality for the duration of the build
· Work as a team, which may mean taking over construction needs, such as sourcing, placing and managing material orders from suppliers, or overseeing other Designer’s projects (when needed)
· Keep up-to-date with new products, materials, design ideas and current trends
· Office administration, such as client meeting notes and record keeping
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
· Undergraduate or Post-Graduate Degree / Diploma in Garden Design, Landscape Design, or Landscape Architecture (Green-driven Architects arealso welcome!)
· High level of creativity and design ability
· AutoCAD
· Adobe – Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
· 3D modelling software – such as Sketch-Up, Vectorworks, Lumion, Rhino, ArchiCAD, Twinmotion, or Revit.
*Willing to learn and adapt to new software and work between different types to establish production flow*
· Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Good understanding of preparing of a wide range of plans, from concept, to detailed specification
· Strong document presentation skills – graphic and written
· Good understanding of hard landscaping, construction detailing and material use
· Good understanding of landscaping material options and creative use
· Horticultural and/or plant knowledge
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong use of English language
*Demonstrable experience for the above – portfolio will be requested*

· Must have a full UK driving license and vehicle (or actively obtaining one)
· Must be within driving distance of our studio and willing to travel
