Student Placement - Information Officer

We are looking for undergraduate students to join a growing Corporate Information Team. We welcome applications from students studying any discipline and willing to learn about Informatics or are looking for a career in the NHS. This student programme has now been running for over 10 years and we have had students from various types of disciplines. These disciplines include: mathematics, geography, history, business and many more. We have four current members of staff who started through a student placement, two of which still in the corporate information team.

The successful candidates' main role will be to provide effective information support to internal and external users. The work will involve interacting with a wide range of staff including consultants, specialist nurses, service managers and senior executives. You will also monitor existing hospital performance targets and have the opportunity to get involved with upcoming projects. The successful candidates will also take a lead role in performance improvement projects such as Patient Experience within the trust.

There are also opportunities for the successful candidates to experience other departments within Informatics such as Business Intelligence and Projects as well as enrolling on a variety of courses to further develop their career prospects.
