Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

The Deck Foreman is required to supervise and coordinate all back deck rigging activities aboard vessels, barges, docks or platforms.

This position is open to candidates from UK, US, Africa and Norway

Functions

ESSENTIAL

  • Plan and coordinate the daily activities on the worksite.
  • Issue work instruction to all rigging crew on shift.
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in crane operations in order to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Inspect and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operations.
  • Competent in vessel/deck crane operation, critical lifts, major equipment lifts, and overboarding lifts offshore.
  • Possess complete knowledge and understanding of the OPG Lifting policy.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • OPITO: Rigging – Level 4.
  • OPITO: Banksman & Slinger – Level 4.
  • High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a lead rigger.
  • Valid TWIC.
  • Develop proper JSEAs and lift plan.
