Role Overview & Responsibilities

As the IT Security Administrator you will be responsible for working with a team of IT Security professionals to support the ongoing operation and improvement of Cyber and Information Security, to ensure Openwork’s system are protected against threats to its IT systems.

The Security Administrator’s primary goal is to protect Openwork’s IT systems from internal and external threats using the tools provided to evaluate threats that could potentially harm the organisation.

This role would suit someone with a passion for IT / Security who is looking to move into a Security role or start their career in the field.

In this role you will be part of a small team within the Technology divisions 1st Line Security Team. The role holder will foster relationships across the Business to promote and encourage good security practice and support Business functions in delivering the required programme of security-related change.

This is a hybrid role based in our Swindon office, with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will carry out daily security health checks.
  • Supporting incident response and investigations for IT Security related incidents.
  • Managing issues, risks and responding to automated and ad-hoc IT Security alerts (Escalating where appropriate).
  • Adherence to Change Management processes.
  • You’ll create and maintain support documentation.
  • Support the development and implementation of security policies.
  • Reporting breaches of IT Security policy to key individuals.
  • Working with key 3rd party suppliers.
  • Assist project teams as appropriate.
  • Gather and collate data to assist with the production of security-related reporting.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry trends / new technology.
