We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Technician to join our team in Birmingham.

The Ability Matters Group (AMG) is a leading provider of prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchair services & products, serving the needs of more than 75,000 patients at 30 centres across the UK and Ireland.

Ortho Europe is the manufacturing arm of the Ability Matters Group. Ortho Europe, established in 1990, is a major European manufacturer and distributor of prosthetic and orthotic product. Headquartered in the UK, Ortho Europe also has offices in France and Netherlands and distributors across Europe and the rest of the World.

Job Summary:

Orthotic Technicians are key skilled members of our Manufacturing Team in Birmingham which includes such specialisms as Footwear; Insole; Pattern & Design; Sewing; Shoe Making & Uppers capability.

The role holder works on and produces bespoke orthotic and prosthetic medical devices, utilising manufacturing equipment, techniques & skills bespoke to the Central Fabrication Services facility at Birmingham.

Role required is for the manufacturing processes for the production of Orthopaedic Footwear Manufacturing.

Footwear Technician’s skilled in these areas:

  • Preparing and finishing footwear.
  • Hand or machine lasting of footwear.
  • Footwear repair adaptations.
