About the Employer

I am looking for a Support Worker to enable my son to access social, leisure and voluntary activities in the community. He loves being active outdoors and doing and making things. He would like to volunteer at various local projects, including a farm and looking after animals. He would also like to go to a Men’s Sheds group. He likes walking, going to the cinema and bowling. He is independent in self-care but has Autism and a learning disability, which mean that he can become very anxious.

Please note the employer has 3 dogs and 3 cats.

Please note the employer is allergic to Erythromycin and Septrin and has Hayfever.

Summary of Duties

Support to:

  • research local volunteering opportunities
  • access activities

The needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You may be required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to your role.

The Person They Are Looking For

I am looking for someone who is flexible, patient and kind with a good sense of humour. You will have experience of supporting people with Autism and learning disabilities and a good understanding of how these can affect people. You will be calm and reassuring and able to build up confidence and support with managing anxiety.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

You will be required to administer medication (minimum age requirement).

The Times Required

Blocks of hours, days and times to be agreed.
