Role Overview & Responsibilities

An excellent opportunity has arisen. We are looking a for a Bistro Assistant for our Bistro within our retirement village. SOCIALBLE HOURS, EVERY OTHER WEEKEND OFF. What we're looking for in exchange.

Position Summary

To perform a variety of tasks associated with production of food and drink within our bistros, ensuring the highest standards of customer service are achieved. You will also be responsible for health & safety, including food hygiene and safety standards.

Main Duties

· To be polite, professional, and friendly always with customers, clients, and colleagues to ensure the highest level of customer care is always adhered to.

· To demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations.

· To maximize all sales opportunities through selling techniques

· To acquire a good knowledge of all products to be able to advise individual customers on their product choice.

· To actively gain customer feedback, passing information gained onto your line manager.

· Assist colleagues in a willing and positive manner including assisting with other duties as required.

· To assist in all food production areas with basic food preparation in accordance with menu requirements

Help the chef keeping the kitchen at high standard

· To serve customers with hot and cold food and beverages.

· To ensure all displays, counters and seating areas comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements.

· To assist in the preparation of hospitality for events when requested

· To receive stock, store and check for quality and quantity; ensuring that all stock is dated and rotated.

· To operate machinery as shown and trained to do so, ensuring that the equipment is used safely and in accordance with current regulations and company policies.

Other Responsibilities

· Ensure that COSHH regulations are complied with and keep all required records.

· To ensure you are fully qualified and your qualifications are kept up to date. These may include the following: Health and Safety, Nutrition, Food Hygiene, Food Awareness and First Aid. Level 2 NVQ in food safety, COSHH, fire safety, infection control, moving and handling and POVA if required by the Manager.

· Undertake tasks as required and instructed by the manager which are not specifically set out in this job description but are within the scope of your skills, knowledge, and experience.

· Ensure you are aware of, and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, safety, health, and hygiene.

· To ensure licensing standards are adhered to relating to the sale of alcohol and report any issues the licensee and/or DPS (Designated Premises Supervisor)

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 18 per week

Salary: £10.42 per hour
