Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking to recruit an Children’s Club Deputy Manger for our After School club based on site at Cwrt Rawlins Primary School, Caerphilly, Monday – Friday,Term time only

The successful candidate will take on the role of Person in Charge (PIC) with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the setting, providing a compliant safe and stimulating play environment for the children attending the club.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a clear understanding of the Child Minding and Daycare (Wales) Regulations 2010 and the National Minimum Standards relating to childcare. You need to be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and have the ability to remain calm and professional in pressurised situations.

The role of Club Manager includes -

  • Overseeing the day to day running of the club, liaising with the Senior Management team/head teacher regarding the running and future development for the setting
  • Working in partnership with parents and carers to plan for the individual needs and preferences of the children and support staff members to achieve this.
  • Leading staff to provide the best possible play and learning opportunities for the children in your care.
  • Ensuring that club is welcoming and friendly, while taking into account all health and safety issues.
  • Ensuring that the Policies and Procedures set out by Dragonflies Out of School Playcare Ltd are adhered to at all times.

The successful applicant must have a minimum of 2 years management experience working in a similar CIW regulated childcare setting and hold a minimum of a level 3 CCLD qualification or equivalent . It would also be desirable if the successful applicant held a level 5 qualification in Childcare and a level 3 Playwork qualification.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week
