Role Overview & Responsibilities

About the Role

North Chelmsford Healthcare Centre is looking for confident person to navigate patients to the most appropriate appointment with the most suitable clinician.

The role will involve dealing with patients’ queries on the telephone, by email and in person, processing prescription requests, arranging home visits, scanning documents, chaperoning, and processing card and cash payments from patients. This is an interesting and important front-facing role within the surgery. BLS training will be provided. Full training will also be given on SystmOne (patient record system).

Shifts are as follows:

Monday 14.00 to 20.00

Thursday 08.00-14.00

Friday 14.00-20.00

We do have available an additional shift of Wednesday 14.00-20.00 if someone wishes to have 24 hours.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have an excellent telephone manner.
  • Have a caring nature and be able to show empathy to our patients.
  • Be able to demonstrate good team working.
  • Have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Be able to pick up processes and information quickly and put these into action.
  • Be computer literate and be able touch type.
  • Be fully flexible to cover annual leave and short notice sick leave.

About Us

North Chelmsford Healthcare Centre is a growing practice with a list size of over 13,000 covering the whole of Chelmsford and some parts of Witham and Maldon.

We are a training practice and have an excellent multi-disciplinary team, including practice staff and PCN staff.
