Role Overview & Responsibilities

Oak Vale Gardens is based in the L13 area of Liverpool. This service accomodates and supports up to 18 adults with an aquired brain injury and complex health and social care needs. Our purpose built facility offers accomodation in easily accessed grounds with car parking facilities. Situated within easy access to local transport links and motorway networks, the focus of the service provided is to meet the holistic needs of each individual aiming at maintaining and improving their quality of life.

Both personal care and participation in activities are key parts of the Support Worker role, so energy, excellent communication and organisational skills are vital.

Previous experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker would be beneficial, however it is not essential; all we ask is that you have a willingness to learn and the compassion to care for the people we support.

Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to people with acquired brain injuries.

A commitment to a service which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individuals' wishes, especially in the provision of personal care.
Good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate effectively with patients and families as well as colleagues and visiting professionals.
