Role Overview & Responsibilities

Priory Adult Care have an opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking Head Chef to join our catering team at Abbey Court Nursing Home in Bourne!

Abbey Court is a 88 bedded purpose built care home situated in Bourne, North of Peterborough that has been designed for older people requiring residential and nursing care. The home is conveniently located in the residential area of Falcon Way, providing residents with a peaceful environment. The home is modern and homely, offering a supportive environment with en-suite bedrooms and comfortable lounge areas. The home also benefits from a beautiful peaceful garden for our residents to enjoy.

As Head Chef it will be your responsibility to plan, prepare and present high quality food and hospitality for our residents. Working to the highest of standards, ensuring dietary requirements of all the residents are met. You will:

  • Assist the Home Manager with menu creation, ensuring a nutritious, varied menu is available
  • Ensure all food preparation meets the requirements of COSHH, Food safety and health & safety regulations
  • Manage food budgets and stocks, checking deliveries as required and placing them in the appropriate storage areas.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all areas of the kitchen
  • Overall kitchen staff management, training, recruiting and rotas.
  • The hours will be worked between Monday to Saturday on a rota basis with other team members.

We are looking for a confident individual with a creative flare, someone who has relevant experience in a similar sized kitchen and qualifications in food hygiene, prep and cookery.
